Sora

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is an action role-playing game developed by Square Enix and Japanese studio Jupiter and published by Square Enix in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance. The game serves as an intermediary between the two larger-scale PlayStation 2 games in the Kingdom Hearts series. It was one of the first GBA games to incorporate full motion video (FMV). Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is the direct sequel to Kingdom Hearts, and its ending is set about a year before Kingdom Hearts II. The story centers around the protagonist of the first game, Sora, exploring a mysterious castle in search of his friends. As he ascends the castle, his friend and rival, Riku, explores the basement levels and fights his personal demons. The game introduces new characters and plot lines that further expand the Kingdom Hearts universe and set up the premise for Kingdom Hearts II.

Professor Layton

The Professor Layton series is a puzzle video game series for the Nintendo DS, currently consisting of four games and one film. At least two more games and at least one more film are due for 2010/2011. Level 5 has also discussed that a third trilogy is in the works. The first three games are about Professor Layton and Luke's adventures together and their eventual parting of ways. The next three games and the film are prequels and are about how Luke and Layton met and their "original" adventures. Although only two of the games are available outside of Japan, Level 5 has stated that eventually the other games and films will be localized. The games are developed by Nintendo and Level-5.

Advance Wars Black Hole Tank

What can I say? I just really love Advance Wars!

This Black Hole tank is from the second installment in the series, "Black Hole Rising". Tanks are relatively cheap, fast moving, and their main cannon makes them ideal for destroying other vehicles (except bigger tanks...)

Maxwell

Today we have a simple but cute hako by AZAXD. It's Maxwell from Scribblenauts.

Scribblenauts
is an exclusively side-scrolling game controlled almost entirely with the Nintendo DS stylus, with the D-pad and face buttons controlling the camera and the left and right shoulder buttons rotating objects. In it the player controls a character named Maxwell, who must collect objects called "Starites" to complete each level.

Advance Wars Black Hole Rockets & Missiles

These two were so similar, that I made them both at once. ;o)

The Rockets and Missiles are both long-range units, and they are very powerful. The Rockets can decimate enemy land and naval units, and the Missiles usually take out any air unit with just one shot!

But the enemy knows this too of course, and sometimes it is pretty difficult to get a shot off because the enemy won't get into range...

Have fun building, and happy holidays everybody!

Golden Sun diorama

It's been a while since we had a diorama posted. Back when I just started with papercrafting, I always disliked these. But I discovered that the power of these dioramas can't be captured in a picture. You have to see them in real life to see how awesome they actually are. So if you've never built a diorama, just give it a try. It might give you a nice surprise once it's finished!

This particular diorama is from the game Golden Sun:
Golden Sun's story follows a band of magic-attuned "adepts" who are sent from their home town into the wide world of Weyard to prevent the potentially destructive power of alchemy from being released as it was in the past. Along the way the adepts gain new abilities, help out the local populations, and learn more about why alchemy was sealed away. The story continues in a sequel, Golden Sun: The Lost Age.

Have fun!

Blue Falcon (2)

Remember the Blue Falcon from a while ago? Well, it's back! This time it's from the game F-Zero GX.

Captain Falcon races in an F-Zero machine named the Blue Falcon. This racer is one of the most well-rounded vehicles in the racing tour. The Blue Falcon's machine number was originally 111, but in F-Zero X , the number had changed to 07 (no explanation for this was ever given). It might be of worthy note that "111" is binary for 7.

This is a higly detailed model, but luckily there's a guide with it too. Check out these details and have fun!

Cranky's Lab

Oh the lab... Wat a freaky place this was. Fish bones hanging on the walls, electrified columns, mysterious potions everywhere. I get the chills every time I think about it. Luckily, that old monkey gave us some usefull potions to make us stronger.

The craft shouldn't be that hard. The pipes and antennas on the roof might be a bit tricky, but you know what they say with papercrafts: patience, patience & patience. Have fun!

Chibiterasu

Sorry, everyone for the serious lack of updates here on NP!
A lot of things have happened this last couple of weeks and staff members have been busy with school and other things.

Anyway, here's a very cute papercraft of the star of Okamiden for DS, the sequel for Okami!
Instead of Amaterasu, the protagonist is a cuter, less vicious cub named Chibiterasu. Chibiterasu is helped by a partner character, the first of whom to be revealed is Kuninushi, the child of Susano from the first game. Chibiterasu will work with other partner characters throughout the game, each of whom can also be controlled independently.

Are you having Deja Vu? If so, it's because of a craft we posted earlier, with White and Purple Pikmin. These models, however, are from Chokipeta. Instead of standing upright, they're planted in pottery. They'd look great on your shelf, or you could just put them by a bunch of flowers to surprise someone(Note: we are not responsible for any fire damaged homes if you place them near Bomb or Fire flowers)! In Pikmin 2 and Super Smash Bros Brawl, Purple Pikmin are known for being extremely heavy, and for crushing their enemies. White Pikmin have the unique ability to poison the beasts they must face.

Donkey Kong's Treehouse

Here is a pretty neat papercraft model by Gipi, of DK's Treehouse.

Donkey Kong's Treehouse first appeared in Donkey Kong Country were it is the starting point of the game. The house is rather nice with a picture of sailing boats on the wall and a vase of flowers on a nearby table. As one would expect there is a large amount of bananas in the house, a picture of Candy Kong can also be seen in the house behind a tire.

He apparently has since had many interior makeovers and has a hammock instead of a bed, and has also acquired Cranky Kong's phonograph and a red girder from the original Donkey Kong arcade game. The treehouse also contains several barrels and crates in it, along with old banana peels.

But of course these above items are not actually in this papercraft version ... because ... that would be CRAZY talk!!!

Kat from WarioWare

Kat is the extroverted, more dominant half of the famous ninja twins from the WarioWare games, Kat and Ana. Her twin, Ana is more timid than her sister. The two live in an old-fashioned Japanese-style house in a forest and are said to be descended from the Iga ninja clan. They go to Mystical Ninja Elementary.

Kat & Ana make a cameo appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as Assist Trophy characters and as regular trophies.

It is a fun craft to build, though not recommended for the beginner. It's pretty awesome when finished and well worth the effort. You also might want to add counterweight on the right foot to help her stand.

Barrel Cannon

Due to lack of Donkey Kong crafts I bring you the Barrel Cannon! Well, this might not be the official name for it, but it's a cannon in the shape of a barrel :P If you know the official name: Enlighten me!

In Donkey Kong64, he barrel cannon is used to get to places you normally can't get. Unlike in Mario games, you can't aim these cannons but they shoot you automatically to the right place.

This is an easy craft for beginners. I included 2 sizes. a 5 cm one, and a 10 cm one. If you're a beginner, I recommand building the 10 cm cannon.
I'm planning to make some more Donkey Kong related crafts in the future. Stay tuned!

Samurai Goroh's F-Zero machine is called the Fire Stingray, an extremely small craft with only one fin sporting a pinkish color with fire painted on the back of the ship. As described in the original F-Zero game, careful and perfectly timed use of the super jet (boost) is the key operating this machine. The Fire Stingray has the highest max speed and is also the heaviest out of the four original machines.

A simple one-pager. Vert092 is planning on doing more of these F-Zero racers, so stay tuned for more! This download comes with an awesome F-Zero mp3, which you can listen while building this craft. White and Purple Pikmins

Pikmin! The first set of 2, consisting of the Purple and White Pikmin.

The Pikmin are very short, standing 1 inch tall. Pikmin are very simple physically, consisting of little more than a head, slender body, two arms and two legs, all four of which are very thin. Pikmin have hands and feet. All Pikmin have two disproportionately large eyes, with round, black pupils. On top of the heads of all Pikmin are plant-like sprouts, which are either topped by a leaf, bud, or flower. The flower is the most developed stage of Pikmin; flower Pikmin move faster and attack more strongly than leaf or bud Pikmin. Each variety of Pikmin have their own unique facial feature. (Info from Wikipedia)

These papercraft Pikmin are of course taller than an inch tall. They also come with a stump for use as a base. Set 2 coming soon!

Samus Aran

FlickrEver since I started papercrafting, I have wanted a high-quality model of Samus. We've had models of Samus before, and, though they were good, they weren't as detailed as I would have liked. So, I went ahead and made my own!

Since we've already had a few Samus models already, there's not much extra I can say about the character, but I can still talk about the model. First of all, as you can probably tell from the picture, this is not a good craft for beginners! The model stands 12 inches tall (about 30 cm), has 13 pages, and has 347 pieces. So, if you are fairly new to papercrafting, then I recommend you get a bit more experience before attempting this model.

Oh, also, before you start building this, you should read the included text file. It has a few things in it that you need to know before you start building.

MagSec 4

Everyone who owned a Nintendo64, probably has played the game Perfect Dark. Probably the best shooter on the Nintendo64. I personally like it more then GoldenEye007.

The MagSec 4 is military handgun used by Area 51 guards. It is produced by Chesluk Industries, just like Cyclone. It carries 9 bullets in the magazine. A state-of-the-art military pistol, largely used by peacekeeping forces. It has a slight zoom capability, and boasts a 3-round burst secondary fire mode.

This craft shouldn't give you too much trouble. The design is pretty much straight-forward. It still has some nifty detail though! It's about lifesize, so it's great for costume parties and such.

De Blob

de Blob is a platform puzzle video game for the Wii and the Nintendo DS video game consoles developed by Blue Tongue for the Wii and by Helixe for the Nintendo DS

The player starts out as a ball of clear water. They then roll the character around until it runs into one of many paint cans which consist of three basic colors; red, blue and yellow. de Blob then rolls and jumps around splashing and sliding on the city's buildings, smearing his newfound hue, returning their color. As he does this the once-silent city gradually regains its soundtrack with each "stroke" of de Blob, with each color corresponding to a particular sound. de Blob can mix the three basic colors to obtain one of four aditional colors. If the player wants to rid themselves of their color, they can go to a pool or a hydrant. As de blob collects colors, his capacity rises to a threshold of 100, growing bigger in the process.
